Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

You’ve done this before. You know the difference between a well-architected platform and a house of cards held together with bash scripts and good intentions. We need you to build the former.

You’ll lead infrastructure projects for our clients, design cloud platforms that work, mentor the team, and set the bar for how we deliver. If you’ve ever inherited a “it works on my machine” pipeline and turned it into something reliable, we should talk.

What you’ll do

• Architect and implement cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Lead Kubernetes platform builds on EKS
• Design CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows that people want to use
• Define Infrastructure as Code standards using Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
• Conduct cost optimisation reviews and implement real savings (not just spreadsheet theatre)
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to hiring

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience
• Deep AWS knowledge across compute, networking, and storage
• Production Kubernetes experience (EKS preferred)
• Strong IaC skills (Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK)
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Comfortable working directly with clients: you can explain technical decisions without hiding behind jargon
• Able to lead a project end-to-end without hand-holding

Nice to have

• GitOps experience (ArgoCD, Flux)
• Multi-account AWS strategy (Control Tower, Organisations)
• Service mesh experience (Istio, Linkerd)
• FinOps or cloud cost management experience
• Security automation and compliance tooling

What we won’t ask you to do

• Sit through pointless meetings that could have been a Slack message
• Babysit a ticket queue instead of doing real engineering
• Justify your existence in weekly status reports
